Carolyn is in the drawing room, and is looking out the window. David enters. They talk, and he gasps. He says he saw an old man standing outside the window. Elizabeth enters. David tells Elizabeth what he saw, and leaves. Elizabeth talks to Carolyn, and tells Carolyn that she thinks David is mentally disturbed and she has no choice but to send him away. David is listening in. At the Old House, Barnabas enters the house and finds Julia waiting. Julia asks Barnabas if he bit someone, and he says no. Julia says Barnabas can bite her. Barnabas declines because he may need Julia later. At Collinwood, David and Carolyn talk. David says he knows aunt Elizabeth thinks he's crazy. He tells Carolyn that he made everything up, and makes Carolyn promise she will not go to the Old House. David leaves and Carolyn decides to go to the Old House.
